About
Anders:
"My name is Anders Bratas,
I`m 34 years old and I'm from Vasteras, Sweden.
My interest for make-up started like many others out there with a
special love for horror movies. When
I was 14 years old I read an article in a Swedish
movie magazine about Tom Savini and Dick
Smith. There were many behind the scene photos
that caught my eye. After that I did my first
short movie on super 8, and tried to use the same kind of
effects that was revealed in the article I read.
Six years later I took a make-up course to get hands on beauty
make-up, hair, fashion, character and so on. I
now have my own company called Make-up
Magic and for 11 years I've been working on feature films,
TV-series, theater and commercials as well as assisting many
other artists. |

"I have been using PPI makeup products for
years on prosthetics makeup and wigs - they are the best!"

3.) "These
prosthetic pieces were made out of gelatin and
were pre-painted with
Skin Illustrator and flocking." |
 |
4.) "I
first applied a handmade latex baldcap that I glued down with Telesis
4 Silicone Adhesive. Then I glued down his own eyebrows with
Telesis 4, powdered it down
and then cleaned his face with alcohol. Then I sprayed two thin coats on the backside of all the appliances
with Green Marble Sealer Spray. After putting
some Beta Bond on the skin and letting it dry, I put
on some translucent powder to take the tackiness away. and then I do
the same on all the prosthetics." |
 |
5.)
"After that I start to lay down the
pieces on his face and then activate the Beta Bond with some
alcohol which works great. After all the application is done
I go over the meeting edges with some thickened Beta Bond
I make by mixing in some cabosil until I got a butter-like thickness. |
 |
6.)
Thickened Beta Bond works great
for pushing hair into - you just push in some small amounts of hair
on the glued area, so the hair stand out. Then when it's dry, you just
take a small eyebrow brush and comb it in the direction you want it to
grow." |
 |
7.) "When I`m satisfied with the application I apply a thin coat of
Green Marble to seal the appliances. On this make-up I only used the
Skin Illustrator Fleshtone and FX
palettes. I always try to get a nice skin tone in the
appliances from the start so I don't have to apply to much paint directly on the pieces.
After that I use the classic "Mexican Airbrush
Technique". I spattered the face with Rose
Adjuster 2 all over, then some Cedar Brown, then some
Rice Paper to blend all the colors." |
 |
8.) "I used some Vein Tone in the inner corner of the
eyes and I finished with some Black & Green to get the
unshaven look effect. I hand layed some eyebrows with a thick matted
Beta Bond with cabosil in the mix. After the
adhesive dried I comb the eyebrows to get them in the right
direction and then I put on the wig with Telesis 5 Adhesive.
The removal was a mix between Beta Solv and alcohol
and took about 1hr. The total time for application and removal was
4 hr." |
