1.)
Sheryl begins by applying Topguard to protect model Josh
Martin's sensitive skin. Sheryl says, "It
assists in the general adhesion and facilitates more effortless
removal."
12.) The
headpiece was a polyfoam injection with a latex skin. This
was pre-painted with the same techniques and products as the
face.
2.)
Using Telesis 4 Adhesive and Thinner, Sheryl lays down one of
five foam latex pieces, sculpted by Sheryl at Matthew
Mungle's Lab, WM Creations.
13.)
Viola!
3.)
The pieces will reflect the perfecting of Josh's features to bring
him closer to Greco/Roman ideals based on her research. The
first piece alters his forehead/nose area.
14.) Studio
shots of Sheryl's finished makeup. Josh
is wearing marble-ized contact lenses supplied by Professional
Vision Care and inserted by Dr. Stacey Sumner.
4.)
Sheryl applies Beta Bond as a contact adhesion for the
upper lip area.
15.) The
marble-ized sculpture-like cape was made of muslin. Sheryl
tiedyed and soaked it in fabric stiffiner then shaped it
around the shoulder bust at WM Creations.
5.)
Sheryl shares information on product, technique and the process
with fellow makeup artists.
16.) After
it dried, she painted it with an airbrush and brush using Skin
Illustrator liquid colors and palettes.
6.)
Sheryl is finishing the Telesis Adhesive application on the
right side face appliance.
17.)
Right profile. Sheryl states, "Several squares of
marble, many art books of Greco/Roman statues as well as many
previous museum encounters fueled the creative process."
7.)
Sheryl is delicately using a small sponge to apply Beta Bond
on the edges of the appliance.
18.)
Back of head. "Josh came to WM Creations to have
his full head cast done, came back for a look-see as to my process
and one more time for a partial test makeup prior to the
show."
8.) Sheryl
is now laying in color with Thom Surpernant's Foam Paint Products
which is made with Beta Bond.
19.)
A shameless product endorsement! "...And rightfully
so!" says Sheryl.
9.) The
colors being applied are a foundation of the continued
"marble-izing" of colors to come.
20.)
As his reward, Josh gets to sip some wine like the true Roman God
that he is!! Tobi Britton assists in the removal
process.
10.)
Sheryl mixed her own rubber mask grease colors from primary
palettes to compliment the PAX paint colors already established in
the makeup.
21.)
Josh experiences a fairly effortless removal process with Super
Solv Plus, chosen for it's gentle qualities on Josh's
sensitive skin.
11.)
With small brushes, Sheryl enhances the veins of marble color that
she mixed using the Skin Illustrator palettes.
"It was great sharing info, techniques
and product knowledge with Josh, who at this time was a makeup
artist in the early part of his career. He was also a
wonderful model for this project and joked about taking pictures to
a plastic surgeon! Thank you WM Creations,
Josh Martin, PPI and their great products!"
